1. What did you do in 2011 that you'd never done before?
I moved into an apartment. A real apartment. Where I had to pay for things. I got a real job. I worked a 9-5. Lived with Kat. Paid rent. Set off a fire alarm. Called the fire department. Signed a lease. Um, other apartmenty things.

2. Did you keep your New Year's Resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
FAIL. I did not keep my resolution of editing my novel. In fact, I made it doubly hard for myself by 1. doing RP again, and 2. writing another novel I like. WHY ARE THESE DIAMOND SHOES TOO TIGHT? Anywho.

Kat and I were discussing this plan one of her friends had to post four smaller goals at the beginning of the month and using those to fuel doing things. I think that I might do that with three major goals in mind for the year.

-- 1. Edit my novel. Like, for serious, what's up with that?
-- 2. Reading. I don't read enough currently and I would like to do more of it.
-- 3. Building a schedule for myself. I have a lot of things I want to do and routines are really good for me. I want to schedule going to the gym and I also want to set up a daily time to write. Currently I just do it all the time all over the place, which is all well and good, but I think I have to start writing for myself more. Anyways, I know the novel writing thing is problematic because I have to edit after, but they say you just have to keep writing. I also want to schedule in time for cleaning, weird as that sounds, but I can be so productive when I get home from work these days, though now it will have to be before work. ANYWAYS, three goals, we'll see how it works.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No, but last weekend it seemed like every other woman who walked into the store was pregnant or had a child. x.x

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No, luckily.

5. What countries did you visit?
Pfffft, like I have the money to do that.

6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?
MONEY. No, kidding. I don't know. More friends. I suppose.

7. What dates from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
I don't know. I can't really remember anything major happening this year. I mean, I graduated from college. I wrote a novel in 9 days and blogged about it. I moved out of my parents house? I mean, these things happen. I don't remember dates.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Probably the nine day novel. I decided to write it in nine days and blog about it. Very good decision. Admittedly it was a 10 day novel, because one of the days went wrong, but I wrote for nine days and that's what counts.

9. What was your biggest failure?
I dunno? I guess not having a job as soon as I left school? I'm not really sure. I didn't feel like much of a failure this year.

10. Did you suffer any illness or injury?

11. What was the best thing someone bought you?
Ummmmmm. I love my bed. I'm a huge fan of the fact that its not a twin. Its kind of awesome. Also, getting a mattress that I like, and not having to spend too much money on it -- win! I also am a huge fan of my desk. If I were to move, my desk it like the most awesome at folding down.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
I hate this section. No one really? This year has gotten weirdly truncated without school still running for me, so I kind of can't remember a lot about what happened over the summer etc. Halley! She was great to me during the weeks of unemployment.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Let's... not answer this one. I'm having trouble with my mother, but I think a lot of the trouble comes from a good place for her, so its not appalling. It just depresses me.

14. Where did most of your money go?
The apartment. You need a ton of shit to go into an apartment. I did beg, borrow and steal a lot, but there were some necessary buys -- bed and desk being the biggest ones, but other supplies.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Graduating -- funnily enough. I also got excited about working for PBS (WGBH), Harry Potter!!!, writing my nine day novel, Goliath, and Yuletide. I loooooved my yuletide assignment, even if I had issues completing it.

16. What song will always remind you of 2011?
Simply because its my most played: Waiting for the End by Linkin Park. I don't even know why it was so played.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder?
Its a mix. I think I was probably happier last year, but there are good things about where I am now. The kittens and Kat being around help things certainly.
b) fatter or skinner? Skinner. Not by much, but I am.
c) richer or poorer? Pooooooorer. I will, sometime soon, however, be richer. REAL JOB!

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Edited my novel. The whole resolution last year fell by the wayside unless I was on break, and then when I had time, I squandered it on... I don't even know because I wasn't RPing until August. I also wish I had read more.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
I was going to say RP, but I love RP, the people I've met through it, and the community aspect of it, so no, I won't say RP. I guess I wish I had spent less time worrying about things. There is some good worrying, and there's bad worrying, and I did a lot of bad worrying this year.

20. How do you plan to spend Christmas?
The Rolfe's came over again, as did Sioban. We played trivia games and then I watched the Doctor Who Christmas Special (gotta say, this year, was fine. Not the best ever, but not bad).

21. Did you fall in love in 2008?
Not with a boy, but with... I'm not even sure. Writing. Being a writer I guess. Its what I'm always going to do, and its kind of hard to accept when you've tried not to be a writer for so long.

22. How many one night stands?

Seriously, who do you think I am?

23. What was your favorite TV program?
Um... good question. I think I loved Being Human a lot this year. And I will always love Psych. And I kind of like where Grey's is going at the minute, but I don't trust it to stay any good so I'm mostly watching it cause I can't stop. ;)

24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No, its been a good year that way.

25. What was the best book you read?
Goliath by Scott Westerfeld. LIKE FOR SERIOUS.

26. What was your greatest musical discovery of the year?
Um.... I totally had this earlier in the year. Oh! Ellie Goulding is pretty rad. Adele... ish. I had heard "Hometown Glory" before and loved it.

27. What did you want and get?

Well to not live in my parents home. To live with Kat a little. It's been nice.

28. What did you want and not get?
Freedom from my parents, fincially especially. That hasn't happened. Hopefully this job will make that easier.

29. What was your favorite film of this year?
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
23. I went to a doctor's appointment. Got Indian food with Kat and parents. It was calm, simple and nice.

31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Having a job all through September and October.

32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2011?
The same as before?

33. What kept you sane?
Writing. As always. Music. Being able to pay rent.

34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Ummmmmmmm... I think I really stuck to David Tennant this year.

35. What political issue stirred you the most?
None. But you know, I live near the Planned Parenthood near BU, and the people who gather there on Saturdays UPSET ME SO MUCH!

36. Who do you miss?
Sarah, Carolyn, Bryan. Josh. I want to go to England. Like, a lot.

37. Who was the best new person you met?
Um... Kristen, I guess. She was great and a really great contact.

38. What was the best thing you ate?
Ummmmm. I'm thinking an Anna's burrito. They are delicious and now much closer to home!
