Kat has once again convinced me into doing this :P

So here we are yuletide santa.

Dear Yuletide Santa,

Heya. Last year was my first yuletide, and I don't think I thought it through that carefully.

I generally like angsty, dark, and action packed stories, I think because it requires a certain kind of structure that allows for surprise (I over analyze things like structure. Its a mixture of TV tropes and too much novel writing, but don't worry, I'll get further into this intro thing and hopefully alleviate any concerns you have for writing for me). So it was this kind of story that I requested last year. I think it was quite a task I set for your predecessor, but they did excellent work. And you know what I did? I was an awful receiver of this gift.

(How? I didn't read it until late at night, and then I basically was like "thanks, it was great" and griped about things)

Why? Well, I don't know about you, but in my family, Christmas is a tear inducing, fight provoking, too much drinking, too much stress event. Usually at the fault of my brother who doesn't do anything, which forces me to do double the work to make my parents happy. Add to that my mother's best friend who is Irish, along with my English parents, and you get a fight at the end of the evening every time. To be honest, Christmas is probably the worst day after my birthdays in recent memory (and now it sounds like I have a weird alcoholic family. Not to worry, my parents may be drunks, but they are not the abusive kind, just the foreign kind, and we all love one another, its just one of those events...)

Anyways, having dealt with all of that, I came back upstairs and got my yuletide and wanted to cry myself to sleep rather then read it and comment. But I do have the personal motto treating people the way I want to be treated, and I wanted the person I had gifted to, to have responded with happy notes (which they had). So I read, found a depressing piece as I had asked for, shut my computer and cried myself to sleep after a brief response of "Thanks, it was great".

So to avoid that this year, I have a proposal for you. Write something happy and fluffy. You don't have to avoid the tragic -- I tend not to like characters or things that don't have some tragedy about them -- but, I do ask for a happy ending, and humorous gestures and thoughts. I really don't mind too much about structure or form, nor will I complain about cliches (which I might do if it were to drop into the depressing). I'm a terrible speller (dyslexic) and not terribly nit picky about things. I just like to read.

So there you have it. You can do almost anything within the world, or alternate world it if you want to. Either way as long as there's fluff and character, and silliness and humor, I will be happy. And hopefully that will make you happy. ;)

Edit: Okay, so re-reading that makes it seem like I am an awful person. So I just want you to know that I really do appreciate this. LOTS AND LOTS. I promise I'm not as annoying as I sound. ;)

So on to my requests:

1. Legend of the Seeker -- Kahlan/Cara

This was the first time in a fandom where I didn't go canon with my pairings. I just love their interactions and how Kahlan keeps on trying to make Cara have FEELINGS (yes all caps). They are both ridiculous and have moments where Cara looks at Kahlan and you can see something there that isn't that different from the way Richard looks at her. They are absolutely adorable.

To be honest, there are parts of Cara/Kahlan that I find extremely interesting -- like why Kahlan tries to kill Cara, the certain jealousies of Kahlan towards Cara, the fact that Cara has sworn to protect Richard and this would be breaking that, but adding that into a fluffy piece may be hard. I think the important factor is that their relationship is complex and hard to deal with.

Oh, and if you don't want to do Kahlan/Cara as a couple, I also love their interactions as friends. Like in the episode 'Princess' with Cara in the dress, or when they get caught in the tomb together running out of air. Its just beautiful, and I can always imagine the stuff I want in. ;)

2. Castle -- Ryan and Esposito

I LOVE THEM. I love their buddy nature and the fact that they are such adorable dorks. 'Specially Ryan. I love him so much with the baby face and the adorable "Did I say that out loud?" and the whole him being the newest and Esposito being his older brother a little and Beckett being their mom and Castle being... I was gonna say dad, but that's really not what he is. Anyways, anything with them getting into trouble in someway and getting out of it.

I know its easy for it to get really grim, but if its some sort of romp, that's not really murder, and you're okay writing that, then great. If it needs to be dark, that's also fine, I just like there to be a happy ending and humor.

3. The IT Crowd -- Jen/Roy

I was so disappointed at the end of season 1 when Jen and Moss ended up in bed together (and somewhat relieved when it was completely ignored). I know most people love Moss, but I prefer Sheldon (from BBT) for the nerdy guy who doesn't understand anything. Roy is just so amusing and I love him. I love the idea of what would actually happen to office dynamics if they did sleep together, you know Jen being drunk and Roy being... himself. I feel like the awkwardness and humor that could come from Roy perhaps becoming a little gentler and Jen being slightly vulnerable and them being silly. I just like the idea of them being together and working out how it would work.

4. Questionable Content -- Dora/Marten

WHY ARE THEY BROKEN UP?

I was so upset, probably because I knew it would eventually happen, but I really really liked them, and hoped they could work it out in some way. Anyways, a happy moment between them where they are actually working as a couple. I think that except for the part with Dora having trust issues, they would definitely work together.

Anyways, I just like it when they are together.

Anyways, many many thanks!
