winterseaspray: (step down and away)
Yeah, Africa is amazing. Tanzania is amazing. The amount of flying we did is amazing. Hah...

Anyways, arrived in Dar after thousands of hours of flying, or something similar. And we had to get out and get my visa. Totally the first experience told me how it was going to be. Instead of standing in a well formed line, you had to push your way through the crowd and wave your passport at the officials. You would then get your passport and visa application taken from you and just tossed into one of the windows. ABSOLUTELY FUCKING SCARY.

However, it made my passage through passport control non-exsistant, which I like better then standing in a line with the rest of the group. Dory has started to rub off on me because of all the standing in lines with her.

Anyways. We stayed in Dar for a night, and all five guys were in one room. Of course, they had airconditioning. Being kind and considerate people that we are, Kate, Laura and myself offered to have one of them in our. Dan ended up in our room, while the other four slept in the cool air.

We stayed up till midnight playing president, which, I might add, after about three hours of playing I was the president! As Dan said though, it was all luck of the draw of cards.

We got up earily the next day to have breakfast and go to Moshi. OH. Correction in our itinerary. British Airways lost Christian's bag. Which meant, instead of going straight to the Pare Mountains for acclimitization, we had to head to Moshi. Stupid really. He still doesn't have his bag.

So, right. We travel for 8-9 hours to Moshi from Dar (by the way Dar bush station, so freaking scetchy, someone yelled to Laura as we drove in "Kiss me madame"...). We arrive kind of late, after getting out before Moshi. We end up piling into a twelve man van (there are seventeen of us and our large and small packs, do the math, we shouldn't have fit) and getting into Moshi.

Its getting dark at this point. Brendan is getting pissed because we have no hotel, and Morgan (our leader for the day) was getting stressed, putting too many fingers into one pie. Whatever other people might say, I don't think she was a good leader, because she didn't let anyone do their jobs.

We finally get a hotel (Meng, we tried the Buffalo, but the other group got their first and it was out of our buget) and head in, and there's dinner and all that crap. Morgan and Erin are already having issues, with Erin practically crying herself to sleep two nights in a row. I think most of the group is having issues with Morgan, for trying to do their jobs.

Dory, me and David had to do transport back to Usangi (our aclimitization) today. IT WAS SO SCARY. WHAT IF WE HAD MESSED UP?

We didn't, by the way. We're off to acclimitize tomorrow. Killi is in sight....

DEAR GOD I AM NERVOUS.

I should go do something more productive with my remaining 13 minutes. BY THE WAY. I WANT E-MAILS. I feel so unloved when all of you ignore me. ;_;

(Yes, that means you Lindsay, you e-mailed Cal and not me? How unfair is that? And I know because he's sitting next to me right now ;) )

Anyways...

I should go. And like...

Do something.
