It took two hours to graduate. Sitting next to Ted Wiggin and Paul Ward, she looked at the black platforms that she was pretty sure came from stair 10 and waited for the speeches to be over, for the time when everyone got up and left. She wanted to get out before she cried.

She didn't cry in the end.
